Testimony: As Dew From Heaven
- By Deanna Lambson
- Published 04/30/2009
- Why I Believe
Recently, I was visiting with a young friend over breakfast about his future plans. As a senior, life looks a little frightening and confusing. This dear friend said to me, “I’m just not sure about a mission. You see, I’m just not sure that I know.” I have thought about it repeatedly since then. My young friend’s question is one that I have had before, perhaps you have had before… Do I really have a testimony? I’d like to tell you about 4 people who had the same question.

I love symbols. So much meaning can be packed into a single image. I guess that's one reason I love temples so much, because they are filled will symbols. In this article, I look at the magnificent "circle" symbols in the new Oquirrh Mountain Temple.

A Man's Willingness to Change - My Story

- Why I Believe
I am not the same man today that I was a year ago! It has indeed been a journey to be baptized in the true church. This is my story. At some point, one must realize that change is inevitable and you come to the realization that everyone is a teacher leading you to His kingdom on earth. Before Paul became an apostle, he ridiculed Christians. Then, he was taught by a Rabban--the highest Rabbi. Later, when the resurrected Lord commissioned him, Paul straightaway preached Christ in the synagogues, that He is the Son of God (Acts 9:20). So I will do the same, and follow his example and share my experience and testimony. Coincidence is Gods way of staying anonymous as he leads you to the right path.
The Issue of the Word "Horse" in the Book of Mormon
- By Ted Dee Stoddard
- Published 07/20/2009
- Doctrine and Scriptures
According to the archaeological and historical records of the Americas, horses simply were not extant anywhere in the Americas during the time periods of either the Jaredites or the Nephites. Yet the words horse and horses occur fourteen times in the Book of Mormon. If the Book of Mormon is indeed a real account about real people who lived somewhere in the Americas, readers of the Book of Mormon should naturally expect logical explanations for occurrences of the words horse and horses in the Book of Mormon.

Evaluating Your Emphasis

Children are extremely perceptive in picking up the emphasis, or priority, of our homes and lifestyles, however subtle it may be. Think for a moment and be honest with yourself — how do you stress such things as education, music, sports, vacations, fun times, traditions, clean houses, good food, and material possessions?
