This is my story and my testimony of living with and overcoming disability through love and faith in the Lord. I am proud of being handicapped, which just means your Spirit was so great in the pre-existence that the Lord gave you your own special handicap that no one else but you can handle.  I feel that I'm better off than a lot of people.  Everyone has their own handicap, big or small, that you must overcome. The Lord lives and he cares about all his children, so don't give up. I sure didn’t.  My life has been more full because of the Lord, I LOVE HIM FIRST OVER EVERTHING. I know the church is true.

Many youth and young adults in the church want to talk to those around them about the gospel but aren’t sure who to talk to, but returned missionary Paul Brooks from the Romford Stake in the United Kingdom has no problem finding people to listen to him! As a radio presenter at his local radio station, he finds his hobby is a great way to talk about the church and gain friendships with those around him.

Recently, I was visiting with a young friend over breakfast about his future plans. As a senior, life looks a little frightening and confusing. This dear friend said to me, “I’m just not sure about a mission. You see, I’m just not sure that I know.”  I have thought about it repeatedly since then. My young friend’s question is one that I have had before, perhaps you have had before… Do I really have a testimony? I’d like to tell you about 4 people who had the same question.

Hope is peace, happiness, harmony, joy, and peace of mind.  It is a belief that things will get better, that good will prevail.  It is a principle of action.  And, it is a quiet confidence that the gospel “plan of happiness” will end in…happiness.

Draper Temple

We have recently had the opportunity to be involved in the Draper Temple Openhouse. It has been a great blessing to our family.

The Apostle Paul was one of the greatest missionaries in the history of the Church of Jesus Christ.  Recently I was reading the fourth chapter of 2 Corinthians where he gives a message to the world, inviting them to partake of the light of the gospel.  Paul's language is sometimes difficult to understand in our day.  But, with careful study, his message is powerful.  Here is a verse-by-verse study guide, and a synopsis of his message

He Invites Us In

Our Lord’s house invites us in. After being baptized about a year ago, one of my goals was to be able to learn how to become closer to my Creator by visiting His house. I want to thank my family and friends who have all inspired me to continue on His path and to go to the Temple. I'm forever grateful. A members positive influence will always be beyond our comprehension.

In the dedicatory prayer of the Kirtland Temple in 1836, the Lord revealed the high standard of devotion he desired for his people as they endeavored to become temple worthy and visit his house. This is also the pattern for each of us to follow as we strive to establish gospel-centered homes.

In this poem, beloved Mormon poet Eliza R. Snow encouraged the downtrodden saints of her day to lift up their hearts and rejoice in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Her message of hope and courage likewise calls to us as we face the modern battles of today.
